Online Talk - Tales from a Violin Maker's Bench
  • Jonathan Woolston, a distinguished violin maker based in Cambridge, discusses the qualities of the Italian string instruments that are now so revered and reflects on the instrument-making that followed. He draws on his experience working with musicians and instruments that have defined the violin sound of modern times.
  • Jonathan worked for several years in New York in the studios of Jacques Français and Rene Morel.  He spent almost a decade at the Royal Academy of Music looking after their world-renowned instrument collection.
